With more than 120 applications per job opening, the federal government uses a system of assessments to manage of the number of applications receiving an in-depth review. Until recently, application essays (KSA) statements were the standard, and some agencies continue to use them. Currently, agencies have five (5) assessment options available...each with advantages and disadvantages. Help your job-seeker customers learn the new assessment options and to write effective application essays. This class will help you to gain an in-depth understanding of how to>>Use the different types of assessment options>>Follow the Office of Personnel (OPM)-recommended model for writing application/competency (KSA) essays>>Identify federal competencies>>Identify and use key words and phrases. If you attended one of the 'Tips & Techniques to "Seal the Deal" on a Federal Job Search' sessions in the fall, this is the follow-up you asked for. Spend the entire class focusing on federal application essay/KSA MUST-HAVES and HOW-TOS. Take away the skills you need to assist your customers with writing outstanding federal application essays!
