To provide the most up-to-date and relevant services for the public, workforce development organizations must learn to focus on businesses as their primary customers. The workforce development organization must change its approach from one of offering its present services to one of identifying and fulfilling the needs of businesses. This interactive, skills-based course is designed for managers and staff who are dealing with businesses every day. It provides tools to enhance outreach to businesses, assess their needs, and develop service approaches to fulfill those needs. The sales process will be described and participants will learn to interview business contacts, structure a sales approach, overcome objections, and use follow-up to assure satisfaction and further develop the relationship.
